Stake out and clear your project area of debris; check the grade to ensure proper drainage.
Surround the area with 2X4 or 2X6 wood forms. Use stakes on the outside to hold the form in place.
Calculate the number of cubic feet of concrete required. (Call All County Mobile Concrete for help!)
Edgers, floats, trowels, shovels, levels, pry bars, safety glasses, a tape measure, etc.
Call All County Mobile Concrete to arrange for a delivery of fresh, high quality concrete mixed on site.
Place the concrete in the forms (from the truck or with a wheelbarrow) and "screed" with a 2X4.
Smooth out irregularities with a wood or metal float, using the minimum floating action possible.
Use an edging tool to give the concrete a radius on the outside edge for a professional look.
Create a final finish with steel trowel or light broom, depending on the desired texture/effect.
Concrete reaches its maximum strength gradually, so must be kept moist and protected until it is "cured" in about a week.

The 6 Steps of Premium Quality Zim-Mixing:

-
Loading: Sand, stone, water, cement and other desired materials are loaded into separate compartments on the Zim-Mixer truck.
-
Designing: Individual fine and course shutter gates accurately proportion the materials and can be adjusted to produce specific mixes.
-
Operating: A single control panel gives the operator total control of the process, from calibrating materials to producing a specific mix on demand.
-
Machine: A patented chain feed delivery system accurately and consistently delivers dry materials to the mix auger.
-
Mixing: Proportioned materials are brought to the auger hopper and blended into a homogeneous product.
-
Placing: Auger positioning controls and chute options allow the operator to precisely place the finished mix without additional labor.
